Mind the Gap

In 2017, the APPG on Pro Bono undertook some research into MP’s casework with city firm Hogan Lovells.

Volunteers were sent into MP surgeries throughout London to observe the nature of the work that was being undertaken and how legal it was in nature. The aim was to measure the impact of the austerity cuts to legal aid on MP casework.

The project, titled “Mind the Gap” has being repeated this year by the group, this time with Hogan Lovells, Eversheds and Mishcon de Reya (among others) volunteers and funding for the research. This was undertaken at MP surgeries in London, Manchester, Birmingham and various other cities.
